what we've been doing lately..

cooking...as always!  I got another box of organic veggies delivered last week so i've had to get creative with cooking and make things I normally wouldnt. i like thinking outside the box with food:)

magno had to take another mortgage test, he got his california and his national tests passed a while ago which is required to start working in the industry, and now hes going for 4 other states...on saturday he passed Massachusetts with a 94 percent!  Later that evening we went out to dinner with our neighbor jesse and he treated us to dinner, drinks, and dessert in honor of magno passing!  Magno and Jesse have a bond like none other, as you can tell.

i also went for an interview at one of my dream wedding planning companies in OC.  I was so excited & was ready to kick the crap out of the interview but was pretty bummed out when i got there and discovered that they were setting up interviews more so in hopes of selling all the interview-ees on their THREE THOUSAND dollar wedding planning classes instead!! Um, no.  It's so weird because its a huge company and very prestigious in the industry, but I feel totally jipped and scammed by even showing up for the interview.  Guess that wasn't the big break I was looking for! but i did get to wear my cute interview outfit:) i LOVE business clothes and rarely get to wear them!

Yesterday was fathers day.  We went out to a yummy place in long beach called schooner or later, it was such a nice day!

after that we took magnos dad bowling & its safe to say that i shouldnt even be allowed in bowling alleys.

im so excited, our wedding was featured on the lovliest day!

in celebration, im making copycat cheesecake factory cheesecake! (ok i would have made it anyways!)

yesterday i spent a GORGEOUS late afternoon at the park with kramer & annie...its one of my favorite places to be especially on a nice day.

magnos still working a lot (8am-7pm) so im REALLY glad tomorrw is friday! he works on saturday but usuallly comes home early, so that makes it somewhat better:) hope everyone has a happy weekend!

on friday night i actually went out...it was nothing short of a miracle!  Me & my sister went to visit our friend Hilarie's new apt in long beach.  It is the coolest apartment, built in 1920, spanish style, original hardwood floors....my dream apartment.  AND, her rent is $400 cheaper a month LESS than ours here in sterile irvine.  boo for us, yay for her..such a cool place!

afterwards we went to her favorite local bar where they have kareeoke.  We all did a trio of the fresh prince of bel air theme song. it was a hot mess, but we had fun.

On saturday we had to zombify ourselves for my cousins sweet sixteen birthday party, which was walking dead themed!  I chose to be a zombie kate middleton

My parents were " 70's sleep walkers", annie was Lori (we decided to put a bullet hole in her head since everyone wants lori to die on the next season of the show!) & megan was herself but a zombie haha, such a lovely family photo.

on sunday me and my boys went to my favorite park & walked the perimeter of it...such good exersize & pretty views, i love that park so much!

later on annie came over & we went to a new store in irvine called daiso. its an asian store & everything is $1.50....plus, the whole store is pink!! I got so much stuff, asian people really know how to do it right!

monday night we went over to annies so magno could connect her internet so while he was doing that, we went to cherry on top...so good!

and because all i did on tuesday was work on my website, heres a picture of dinner.  so exciting, i know.

its been a while..

heres what we've been up to lately!

last week my sister was on spring break so i went over & helped her start the redo on her spare bedroom. i forgot to take a before picture but the walls were tan...heres the "during"

the next project was the kitchen.  living in old town orange everything is vintage, in her case it wasnt cute vintage it was 70's vintage.  So part of our kitchen redo was tearing up the hideous 70's contact paper and replacing it with cute contact paper.  i forgot to take a before also=/

we also moved her microwave & re arranged a few things.  Still lots to do in there but when we started the kitchen makeover (when me and my hubby lived there last year) it looked like this

so now that it looks like this, its a lot better but far from a dream kitchen!

i also made some heart art from some paint chips i stole grabbed from home depot when we were there getting some stuff.

one day when we have a place big enough for an office/craft room for me, thats where they'll be:)

 i also started going to the gym last month! it was random and unexpected but now i go at least 4 times a week and i actually love it!  it even inspired me to make a yummy healthy meal (cilantro chili burgers with pico de gallo rice on a bed of spinach) which is now my new favorite meal, it was SO good!

and to end my sisters spring break we took a sisters trip to san diego where we enjoyed an awesome hotel room and beautiful 80 degree weather!

after a long way home due to tons of traffic, we got to my parents house for easter.  my mom made us adorable easter baskets and i contributed the deviled eggs.  i spent all day friday dying and peeling them before we went to san diego...it was definitely a labor of love but they turned out good!

now excuse me while i go clean the crap out of our apartment! i left my husband, his friend, and his brother here alone all weekend so im gunna sanitize every single surface & light all my candles & forget the whole thing ever happened.

weekend fun

A few weeks ago I bought a groupon for local & organic fruit to be delivered to my door…it was awesome to cut out a shopping trip (I usually go every week for fruit and veggies, I only use frozen meat and everything else I usually already have on hand). all of this was only $15! and it was some of the best fruits and veggies I’ve ever had.

I had some yummyyyyy grapefruits with a few meals

and I made a healthy & delicious chicken salad for lunch…

Today im making homemade chicken noodle soup with the rest of my veggies.  I’ll be sad to see them go!  I will only order it once it goes on sale again..the regular price would have been $31 and that’s a little bit much in my opinion.
Friday night we went to our friends Kristen & Nicks housewarming party.  Their house is so cute & it was a really fun party where our friends bubba and scooter performed!  It was a fun night, we had to leave early cause magno had to work the next day, I played call of duty all night after that so alls well that ends well Thanks Shannon for taking pix because once again, I didn’t take any!!!!!


Saturday morning I made some pizza dough & then me and my sister layed out at the pool and worked on our tans. they still need some work haha.  later in the day we made homemade pizza….saturdays our for eating in this family!

Sunday I hung out with my friend hilarie…we went to the beach and it was the most gorgeous day! We also had deliiicious italian sandwhiches & coffee mmmmm.

yesterday I went to ralphs & spilled my cup of coffee all over the checkout stand. that was fun.  so I rewarded myself with another cup of coffee & a pot of tulips (they were on clearance for $4!!) haha. I wont be going back to that store anytime soon!

and kramer got a bath…he was not happy..
